Software Engineer/Developer

Daily Insight Group is building a team of software engineers to blaze new trails in all facets of design, web technologies and massive scalability. We are taking our strong brand and using gamficiation principles to redefine and usher in our next generation of users. Like other successful web companies, DIG faces a number of challenges -- but many are unique to our situation: a very large user base, multi-browser targets and large data requirements of online gaming require us to continually push boundaries to discover the best solutions.

DIG software engineers are excited to pick up any of the languages, technologies or methodologies necessary to smite a challenge ... and if a conventional solution doesn't exist, they innovate as necessary. Our software engineers are comfortable moving between frontend, backend and architectural roles. Qualified candidates will demonstrate a track record of high performance, teamwork, passion for games, and the ability to work in an extremely fast-paced environment.

Diverse Software Engineering Roles:

Desired Skills and Experience

Requirements

•   BS, MS or PhD in Computer Science or related technical discipline (or equivalent)
•   A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms and software design
•   Extensive programming experience in one or more of the following: JavaScript/Node.js, PHP, Mobile Software Development (iOS, Android)
•   Strong understanding of databases, whether SQL or NoSQL
•   Strong object-oriented skills preferred
•   Knowledge of the software development lifecycle
•   Exposure to game design and development experience (academic, employment, or personal)
•   Experience with version control systems such as Git or Subversion is a plus!
•   Facebook, Google+, iOS, or Android development experience is a plus!
•   Excellent teamwork skills and ability to assist other team members in problem-solving
•   Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
•   Ability to handle multiple tasks with minimal oversight
•   Ability to be highly flexible to quickly changing business needs and new technologies
